- 3D Desert Paintings

Between the years of 2004 and 2008, I visited friends in Southern California several times.  Each vacation included a side trip to Joshua Tree National Park.  The otherworldly landscapes found in the park have been a major source of inspiration ever since!

I have recently developed a unique technique to try to capture the textures of the American Southwest.  Using progressively thicker layers of acrylic mediums, I am able to achieve a truely 3D look to my desert paintings.  I am currently working from photos that I took while visiting Joshua Tree NP, but I am always interested in COMMISSIONED ARTWORK, and would be more than happy to create a painting based on your best desert photograph.
